Employing Web 2.0 Marketing In Your Business Site
I use Twitter for my up to the minute web 2.0 marketing efforts. When I have a material that I am working on, you will catch me retweeting people and such and such. I have just started with Twitter and so I do not have many friends in it yet. After some time, I might get additional twenty friends or so.
In Twitter, I retweet all these things to all my followers. I am all about keeping things as leveraged as possible and making one post here and then having it pushed out to all of the different web 2.0 networks I have apart from my SEO blog.
So Twitter then gets pushed over to Facebook. There’s a very easy way you can have the two integrated. So whenever I make a Tweet it then gets posted over into Facebook and you’ll see it as a status update. Some of my friends get a little bit frustrated because they just feel like I’m constantly spamming them because I’m appearing in their little news feed.
I try to help them understand my Facebook is not so much about my friend network as it is more so for my clients. So I’ve got a lot more of a following in Facebook than I do on Twitter because I’ve been doing it for a little bit longer. But I do that so my SEO company clients, for one, can connect with me and realize that I’m a real person. I’ll post photos of me on holiday, I’ll do things that I’m involved in and I’ll engage with them as well. It’s an opportunity for them to connect with me on a more social level.
To share what I do up to date or up to the minute, I use Twitter. Secondly, I use Facebook more as I’m a real person. I give the impression they can get to know me and not only my SEO services. As I resort to web 2.0 marketing, my life is an open book. There is nothing I hide.
Is your list loaded with a lot of friends? This is the coming back to something that Ed Dale has once shared. He explained that we should learn how to limit the number of our friends. What happened to him is that he kept on accepting friends. Because of this, he was unable to get the updates from friends that he really wants to track. He has three thousand friends and it seems that his updates are messy. If you have a lot of friends, it will difficult for you know who your real friends are.
Due to this happening, Facebook has built fan pages for people with thousands in their friend lists. I have not tried it, but maybe if we get five thousand friends there, I will swap to fan page. I use my Facebook page mainly to connect with people and as a web 2.0 marketing tool. Through it they can see the activities I engage in and put my photos and videos and other things there. This is just an overview of how we use Twitter and Facebook. The next one that I use is one called Posterous. It is a helpful service that permits users to send an email attaching any kind of multi-media.
