Wages for this profession are dependent on where and who one teaches. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports ESL teachers teaching kindergarten up to grade 12 make $41,000 to $46,000 on the average. The Bureau also estimates there will be a need for 20% more ESL teachers by 2020.
Whatever one might think of current immigration issues, the undeniable fact is the U.S. has beckoned people of the world for centuries as the land of opportunity. Because of this, a half-million people are taking that invitation seriously and entering legally.
