Kindle vs Nook: You Make The Choice. Nook Isn't Bad, But I Think They Will Have To Do Something Miraculous To Beat Kindle
I’ll show you the differences between the coolest e-readers? So here it is: Kindle vs Nook? Want to know which one a like the best? Here are some obvious comparison points. I really love the Kindle. That is my personal experience. There are a lot of reasons to love the kindle. But I will let you decide. But Kindles future does look better. The 11 good points:
-Size: Kindle is larger than Nook but way compacter. Kindle is one inch taller, and 40% thinner than Nook.
-Weight: Kindle is lighter than Nook. About 3oz lighter than the original Nook. 1oz heavier than Nook Touch, and 7oz lighter than Nook Color.
-Battery: In some cases Nook beats Kindle for battery life. If not using the Internet Kindles battery lasts about 4 weeks, as the old Nook lasts 2 weeks, but Nook Touch lasts 8 weeks, now the Nook Color will last about 8 hours.
-Screen: although the Kindle 3 has a better contrast it is equal to new Nook Touch of 2011. Glare in none existent on both of them, which is easy on the eyes, which makes these kinds of readers better then the ipad, but on the Nook Color, which is an LCD display, the contrast is even better, but unfortunately there is a glare in the sun and quite a strain on your eyes, like ipad.
-Navigation: This is the negative for Kindle: it uses real buttons and a toggle for navigation instead of touch screen, personal preference. Nook is touch screen at different sizes depending on the model.
-Memory: Kindle rules. It is important to have enough memory so you can take your virtual library with you. Kindle has about double the memory compared to Nook, and the Nook Touch. While K3 isn’t expandable, Nook is, I will cost you more.
-Free books: kindle has more free books, but Nook has them too. Nook will support .ePub public library books. Kindle supports free .mobi books that are abundant online, Kindle Books can be found at 11,000 public libraries.
-Free 3G Internet for Kindle! WiFi is all that Nook Touch and Color come with.
-Rating: Kindle has the highest rating of 4.5, Nook is under that with between 3.7 to 4.3.
-Price: Kindle is less expensive than Nook the book selection is greater, and you can’t beat Amazon. The eBooks are cheaper on Amazon too.
-Kindle is smart, and makes it really easy for authors to publish their books on the Kindle, making the Kindle selection incredibly diverse, offering very low priced but high quality independent books.
Then again if you get the new Kindle tablet Fire for a mere $199.00 that can do everything an ipad can do, personally there is no compression.
Nook isn't bad, you make the choice, but I think Nook will have to do something big to beat Kindle. On the other hand I think the ibook browsers from Apple on the Ipad is actually better than Kindle.
