Weighing Up The Canon 60d Vs 7d.
The Canon EOS 60D, released early in 2010 is one of the digital tech breakthroughs of the millenium.
I had the opportunity to play with both a 60D and a 7D recently and they got my heart racing.
There is just such a huge difference between casual cameras like compacts and a high tech SLR camera. Yes. I do have snappers... on my mobile and a compact but not for getting bragging shots.<_p_>I was comparing the 60D and 7D to my Rebels and to the few Pro models I have played with. null Of course both cameras had the usual feel of the precision Canon DSLR's and I got the familiar rush at the sound of the lightning fast shutters, but this time I also experienced the thrill of the 5 FPS continuous shooting of the 7D. Playing with the 5 FPS of the 7D I imagined being an action photographer and loved it. The Dual DIGIC IV processor is spine-tingling! The Vari-angle screen of the Canon 60D is one of those features that I never thought I would need until I used it. Now I am a fan.
Afterwards I examined my photos critically. They were not creative master pieces but there was enough to prove just why one would want such a high FPS.... to catch subtle differences or action series shots... and then have more choice. Above 12 MP it is hard to see the difference in quality of 18 MP's. I cannot honestly say that I can.
I am perhaps naive in believing that an APS-C camera can take exactly the same quality photographs as Full Frame professional toys in 99% of cases. I just don't believe all the web based 'evidence' of full frame superiority.
Let's says someone took a good shot with the same good lens on both an APS-C and a Full Frame Professional camera. Could they tell the difference by looking at the picture?
Ultimately between the Canon 60D vs 7D my preference would be the 60d. The price will be the decider for me in Comparing the two.
If I did not have a bag full of camera kit already I would rush out and buy the Canon 60D today, but I will have to be satisfied with writing a review on the 60D vs 7D.
