Levels Of Crime Are Possibly Set To Increase
Here in the United Kingdom, over the last few years, we have been regularly informed, via the media, that overall levels of crime have been falling. Now we are all very much aware of just easy it is for the government and the police authorities to fudge these results however many people believe it will not be so easy in the future. The majority of people, including a leading think tank, strongly believe that crime levels in the UK are set to increase in a massive way due to the government cutbacks which include the loss of thousands of policemen and policewomen. So what should we as the public be doing to protect ourselves?
You can no doubt imagine just how pleased and overjoyed the criminal fraternity are feeling. I can just see them in my mind planning the next Great Train Robbery or some other huge crime. I also believe that many retired criminals will be coming out of retirement to take advantage of this unique situation. You may think that I sound rather bitter! And I am. The government are cutting our most important services while allowing the banks to continue to pay huge bonuses and take huge risks! There is now an increased requirement for retail security and key holding services as people and businesses take stock of the situation.
We, as members of our society need to beware of the increased risks. We must ensure that windows are properly shut, that doors are locked and that we have adequate insurances in place should anything adverse happen to our property or cars. Be extra vigilant with all aspects of life and most certainly do not confront rowdy drunken youths. These people are well aware that the police will not help us and they are therefore able to run wild and free. These days attempting to fight back against these yobs could end up with a major injury as they carry knives and even guns. Yes this is sad and we should not have to put up with it but this is the times we live in.
