Numerous individuals that their actions are justified by their sense of morality. What many do not realize is that morality is bound to culture and religion. The fact that there are numerous cultures and religions seems to be forgotten by many. The following are five straightforward tips which should help you raise your child into someone who is morally sound and who is accepting of the diversity of the people around them.

1. Acceptance of differences. Many people are focused on individual differences - faith, race, shade of the skin, wealth, etc. As soon as people get over the pettiness of the different factors and just accept the simple fact that all people are all humans, not aliens, that we all share the same genetic makeup, then probably there would be less disagreements. The fact is, if people accept that despite the differences, everyone has the right to live.

2. Everyone has human rights. Hopefully there will be a time when people would unconditionally accept the differences of race, color and creed. Here is where human rights should come in. After people get to respect that individual people hold independent lives and ideals, then there would be fewer disagreements.

3. Acceptance of religions. There is no doubt that everyone knows the existence of diverse religions. But knowing something is totally different from accepting it. There are still a lot of people who think that they have the right to force people to believe their beliefs. People who raise their children to be more accepting of the diversities in religious beliefs, then they would be better accepting of their neighbors and regard them as their equals.

4. Respect for the law. Children should be taught from the very beginning about what the law considers as right and wrong. But this is one aspect where many parents could actually be hypocritical in their approach. They teach their children that stealing is wrong and yet they allow their children to have 'fun' by obtaining something which they do not own because when they were kids they also had fun doing it. The children see their parents as their role models. Simply because they are older should not be used as an excuse not to do so.

5. Loving family unit. The family unit is the core of morality, no matter the race, culture, religion and environment. If the family unit is loving and accepting, then children will grow up to be the same. The modern world has undergone a lot of changes and one of the most modern of changes is the diversity in family units. Parents who point to their children the differences in family units and then claim they are different from ours will only raise a child who will feel un-accepting.
